Resonance is a suite of seven sculptures based on the first seven ratios of the harmonic series, the mathematical basis of what makes a sound 'musical', and thus the basis of tonality and harmony. In precise size ratios from 1:1-1:7, each sculpture consists of 28 distinct parts, intertwined to create forms within forms visually imagining the natural resonance of harmony.

Though inspired by diagrams of the harmonic series, sine wave curves, traditions of ornamentation, sculptures and mobiles, the primary device of these works is the spiral, a form which simultaneously turns inwardly and outwardly upon itself, not unlike harmony, which by its nature must reflect upon itself to be.
